Riffle Guest List With Dr. Larry Rosen: Books Every Parent Should Read

I’m so pleased to welcome Dr. Rosen to the blog today. His list “Books Every Parent Should Read" is up on Riffle!

Dr. Larry Rosen is an integrative parent and pediatrician.  He’s learned everything he needs to know about pediatrics from his kids and from the families he works with at The Whole Child Center, his revolutionary holistic and green pediatric practice in Northern NJ.   His creativity is writing - he contributes to Kiwi Magazine, the Huffington Post and MindBodyGreen.  He has always loved books, so after 46 years, he finally wrote one.  ”Treatment Alternatives for Children,” co-authored with Jeff Cohen, is an evidence-based guide for parents interested in safe and effective natural solutions for common childhood ailments.  In addition to his, Dr. Rosen recommends several other books he believes every parent should read. Read more at thewholechildcenter.org.

Thanks for joining us, Larry! We’d love to learn more about what makes you tick.

Q. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A. Being completely present in what I am doing and fully engaged with the person in front of me.

Q. What is your greatest fear?

A. Someone I love not know how much I appreciate and value him or her.

Q. What or who is the greatest love of your life?

A. That’s easy - my wife and my kids.  I hope they know it.  They should.

Q. If you could choose your own personal theme music/song to play every time you enter a room, what would you pick?

A. Ooh, my own personal theme song!  I’m feeling all Ally McBeal-ish.  I’d have to go with “Blue Sky” by the Allman Brothers.  ”Walk along the river, sweet lullaby/It just keeps on flowin’, it don’t worry ‘bout where it’s going” - something to aspire to.

Q. Your wish for 2013?

A. Equanimity.
